Part of the Community College System of New Hampshire, Great Bay Community College is a two-year public community college that is located in the picturesque seacoast region of New Hampshire. Serving over 2,000 students, Great Bay Community College (GBCC) fields seven athletic teams competing regionally in the Yankee Small College Conference and nationally in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.  

GBCC had a vision of how they wanted the lobby and hallways of the new Student Success Center to look and turned to AMI Graphics to determine the best signage solutions for the space. The goal was to add branded signage to the blank lobby and hallway walls to promote the goals and mission of GBCC and the intercollegiate athletic program while encouraging school spirit and pride. Through a site visit and a series of mock ups with AMI’s creative design services, GBCC’s AMI account manager was able to bring their vision to fruition.

The lobby was outfitted with a large wall mural behind the front desk overlaid with dimensional lettering creating an eye-catching custom display to welcome students, faculty, and visitors into the facility. This custom display allows GBCC to proudly display their code of ethics, mission and vision statements, and core values with sleek and stylish dimensional lettering while promoting their students, student-athletes, and state-of-the-art facilities on the adhesive wall mural below.

Decals custom cut to the shape of the GBCC Heron logo were applied to the wall above the main desk in the Athletic Department office as well as other areas throughout the facility to enhance what would otherwise be empty wall space.

An additional wall mural featuring graduation images was also installed to honor past student accomplishments and to inspire current students. Custom wall murals are a great way to add color and life to blank hallways of newly constructed facilities or to give a facelift to older facilities without the cost of a major renovation.

As part of a previous project, GBCC dressed up the blank windows on the outside of their gymnasium and promoted school spirit with window graphics depicting a mural of student-athletes and the GBCC Heron logo.

These two projects featuring branded facility signage combined to give the GBCC Student Success Center a consistent and cohesive look throughout serving as a showcase of school and student pride and commitment.
