Project Highlight: Saint Michael’s College

Saint Michael’s College, a private liberal arts college in Colchester, VT, is home to the Purple Knights with 21 Varsity programs. Affiliated with NCAA Division II and the Northeast 10 Conference, about 25% of the student body participates in varsity level programs. The Vincent C. Ross Sports Center, which was dedicated to the College back in 1973, was in need of visual upgrades.

In January 2015, Chris Kenny, the Director of Athletics for Saint Michael’s, contacted AMI Graphics to get started on a number of visual enhancements for the Ross Sports Center. Although he had a general idea of areas that needed to be upgraded, he entrusted AMI to develop the concept. After a site visit was conducted in February, the AMI Creative Department took the reins on the project and produced a number of proofs until a final proposal was agreed upon.

The outcome is a number of stunning wall murals along the halls of the Center, vinyl banners, and window graphics, which boast the Purple Knights’ trademark purple coloring and Knight Head logo.

“We are thrilled with the graphic enhancement project that AMI Graphics brought to life for us.  We have a multi-step branding plan in mind, and this was the first phase.  We have been exceptionally pleased with the quality and range of work that AMI has provided us since 2005, and their outstanding customer service and the ease with which we work with their creative team makes every project an enjoyable process.  After a brief site visit by [Senior Account Manager] Sander Falzone and a meeting to discuss concepts, we were off and running!  The end result was fantastic.  The treatments in our Hall of Fame Room, Team Media Room, and Athletic Training Room made a dramatic improvement and were very well received.  However, the jewel of the project is the eight-foot-high wall mural that runs the length of our Sport Center's concourse, and features action images of student-athletes from all 21 of our varsity sports programs.  That wall mural is a show-stopper for many - we will often find people spending time gazing at it like they are in a gallery, taking selfies by their favorite sport athlete, or just admiring it as they pass through the concourse on their way to work out or practice, or heading back to class or the dorm.  Thank you, AMI!  Looking forward to our next project together!” – Chris Kenny, Director of Athletics, Saint Michael’s College
