[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Championship banners are a great way to recognize the accomplishments of individual athletic teams and programs. Recognition banners that commemorate accomplishments of teams from the past not only honor those teams, but motivate future teams to reach the same level. The traditional championship banner hanging from the rafters or walls in a gymnasium is one way to recognize accomplishments, but not the only one.  We offer a variety of ways to incorporate championship and player recognition into your athletic facilities.

Classic Banners

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) recognized their athletic milestones with the traditional cloth championship banner hanging inside their gymnasium. Traditional championship banners create a strong visual appeal while filling a gymnasium with history.

Traditional recognition banners can also be used to recognize individual player accomplishments. Eastern Illinois University commemorated their All-Century Team with vinyl banners. These banners not only add more appeal to their gymnasium, but are a great way to honor the players that came before.

Outdoor Championship Banners

How do you recognize the accomplishments of teams that don’t compete inside the gymnasium? Outdoor banners hung at baseball stadiums, football fields, and more are a great way to recognize prior program successes.

The St. Lucie Mets displayed championship signage on the exterior of their baseball stadium near the stadium entrance. Because this signage will be displayed outdoors, the St. Lucie Mets used Dibond, a durable aluminum composite material that is rigid and long-lasting.

The Portland Sea Dogs chose to display their championship banners on the exterior of their stadium as well. However, unlike the St. Lucie Mets, they chose vinyl banner material, which is more economical than Dibond.  The vinyl material is durable and long-lasting, but also susceptible to heavy wind gusts.  To prevent their banners from flapping in the wind, the banners were secured on the top and bottom.

For instances when you want to recognize a team, like soccer and football, but have no buildings to secure signage to, mesh banners are an excellent option. SNHU used mesh banners on a fence near their fields to recognize their program accomplishments. These mesh banners are perfect for championship recognition, because they not only highlight past accomplishments for visitors, but also dress up a mundane area of their athletic grounds.

The University of Connecticut wanted to recognize the achievements of their baseball program, but without a large stadium structure, were left with little space to display banners. UConn got creative and came up with an innovative idea for championship recognition. They installed mesh banners on the back and sides of their bleachers. This not only displayed their past successes prominently, but also covered what can be an unsightly aspect of any stadium seating.

Another example of a school getting creative with their championship recognition is the University of Delaware baseball team. They chose to display their baseball team’s accomplishments on the athletic padding on the outfield walls. This is a great example of an organization using their facilities to their fullest potential. Using custom decals displays their championship appearances boldly for all to see.
