Mesh windscreens are a simple and budget-friendly banner solution for big impact visuals in higher wind areas. Durable and versatile enough to be used in a multitude of locations such as surrounding sports fields, bleachers, or stadiums; along construction site fencing; and to cover up equipment areas; mesh wind screens can also help to provide a layer of privacy and wind protection.
Now that you’ve determined that mesh windscreens are the right signage solution for you, here are some helpful tips to get the process started on your mesh wind screen project. Not to worry if you still aren’t sure, our signage experts are here to help go over any specifics of your signage needs and locations to help you pick the best signage solution for your application.
Determine Initial Measurements – Determining the initial measurements of you windscreen project will allow your AMI Graphics account manager to provide an initial quote for the project. At this time, it is also helpful to know whether you may want your mesh windscreens all printed with a design, whether some may be a solid color, and whether you may need installation services.
Design – Besides measurements, the design of your mesh windscreen project is the next most important piece. The design of any piece of signage plays a large part in the success of the signage. We have a talented team of designers on staff at AMI ready to help design your windscreens and work to turn your vision into a reality, or start something from scratch for you. If you plan to create your own artwork, there are some questions you should keep in mind while you are designing. Do you require fully printed windscreens or are you considering a combination of printed and solid color dyed windscreens? Do you need to take into account any visibility concerns? This is more of a concern for windscreens at sports facilities where you want to ensure that the design on the windscreen does not cause any sightline issues. For example, you would not want to have an elaborate design on windscreens lining the fences along the baselines of a tennis court that might cause the player to lose sight of the ball in the design.
Confirm Measurements – Once the design has been created and before ordering, double check your initial measurements to ensure accuracy. If there are any doors or gates along your fences or surfaces where the windscreens will be installed, it is recommended to measure those separately for accuracy. Additionally, it is always good to double check measurements as windscreens that are too large for their space can create wrinkles and loose installation may cause the material to tear.
Confirm Design & Order – Check over your design for breaks in panel layout. If it is a large mesh windscreen with a single design that will need to be in multiple pieces due to the size or fence panel layout, we will note where the splits will fall on the proof for your approval. Once you approve your design and sizes, your mesh windscreens will be printed and produced.
Installation – AMI Graphics offers installation services with our network of trusted installers around the country. If you would like to install the mesh windscreens yourself, we recommend that you have multiple people to ensure that the windscreen is installed tightly and properly. Heavy duty cable ties are a great fastening option for long term applications while bungee balls offer flexibility for windscreen applications that may need to be changed out on an event by event basis.
