The retailer needed 1,250 custom vinyl banners in just two days as part of a holiday shopping promotion. We received the artwork for their banners at 6:00 pm on a Wednesday night and personally filled a shipping container with their completed order at a FedEx facility just 24 hours later. The size of this order coupled with the limited time-frame to produce it posed a challenge to the AMI staff. However, AMI is positioned to face these challenges without hesitation due to our available technology and internal employee knowledge and training. The work started as soon as the artwork was received. The Creative Design team prepped the necessary files to begin production and sent them to the shop floor.
To complete the large banner order for our client, multiple printers were operating through the night. Vinyl banners are a common product for us, so having multiple machines that can produce them not only acts as a backup, but also allows us to produce large orders more efficiently as well as work on multiple orders at the same time. In this instance, the redundancy in machinery helped reduce our turnaround time. Additionally, our in-house capability to create custom sized corrugated cardboard boxes allowed us to package each banner individually at our shop. This capability allows us to create the most efficient packaging solution for any size project which ultimately reduces shipping costs for clients.
AMI production team members worked efficiently to produce the banners and individually kit and ship them to 1,250 unique locations across the United States in just 24 hours. Several cross-trained employees operated the necessary printers while the printed banners were simultaneously finished with grommets and were packaged to be shipped by other production team members. Without effective cross-training, this job could have taken much longer. A knowledgeable staff allows us to remain flexible to produce orders in a timely manner.
