Create an impactful visual and help visitors see the light with backlit signs. Backlit signage adds vibrancy and contrast to your messaging which makes it more attractive to visitors to your location. Backlit signs ensure that your sponsors, company information, and promotional messages are seen in any location and lighting environment.
Why Choose Backlit Signs?
It’s easy to say that humans are attracted to bright, shiny things. And it’s true, we are! Human eyes have energy sensors that are activated by light. Because light is a form of energy, our eyes are naturally drawn to the source of that energy when it is detected. However, there are more practical reasons to choose a backlit signage.
When used indoors, backlit signs create a strong contrast between the displayed graphics and the surrounding area to bring signage to life. When used outdoors, they provide that same vivid contrast while also making signage prominently visible in the dark.
A major benefit to backlit signs is that the signage panels can be replaced to update sponsors or organization information without needing to replace the backlit box. At AMI Graphics, we can produce signage panels to fit almost any size existing backlit box. Our Signage Professionals will work with you to determine the correct materials and the proper size for your signage panel.
Already have a backlit sign that’s in need of an update? Many older backlit signs used vinyl lettering to display graphics which will fade over time. With our full-color, digitally printed backlit signs, your graphics come to life with more vibrancy than ever before.
Common Backlit Signage Uses
Backlit signs can be used for a variety of different purposes. Below we will look at some ways our clients used them in the past.
The concourse of an athletic facility is a common area to display backlit signage because of the heavy foot traffic from fans coming and going. In the photo above, we see how the Portland Sea Dogs effectively used backlit signage in their concourse. Placing the backlit sponsor message above the standing board ensures that fans will see the sponsor message as they wait in the concessions line.
Another area where backlit signage can be effective is around the seating bowl in the interior of an athletic facility. In the photo above we can see a backlit sign installed around the seating bowl above an exit to the concourse. This sign is easily viewable by the fans that are exiting the seating bowl to the concourse, as well as anyone facing the sign sitting on the opposite side of the arena.
While backlit signs are a very effective way to promote sponsors, they can also be an excellent way to strengthen branding and create excitement around an organization. In the photo above, the logo for Rossignol, an outdoor clothing and gear company, is displayed on a backlit sign. The solid red backdrop creates a strong contrast with the bright white “R”. Despite being in a well lit room, the logo still draws your attention and creates an appealing visual.
A Jordan’s Furniture Sleep Lab wanted to create a unique, serene display. With the use of a large backlit box and dye sublimated stretch fabric, this visually pleasing display was created. In the photo above, we can see how this large, unique backlit sign helps produce the ideal ambiance that the client desired.
Backlit signs ensure that the displayed graphics are clearly visible to anyone passing by. They help brands stand out from the crowd by using light to capture people’s attention.
