Project Highlight: Dalhousie University Softline™ Padded A-Frames

One of Canada’s oldest universities, Dalhousie University is a public research university located in the heart of picturesque Halifax, Nova Scotia with an agricultural campus in nearby Truro. Home to over 18,000 students, Dalhousie fields 14 varsity level teams competing in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport’s Atlantic University Sport Conference. Recent successes have included 63 conference championships in the past decade with approximately one third of student-athletes reaching CIS Academic All-Canadian status.

In the summer of 2016, the Tigers were looking for a way to highlight their athletic sponsors during basketball and volleyball games at the Dalplex. As the primary fitness and recreation facility for Dalhousie University, the Dalplex is used for club and intramural games and serves as a general recreation facility for students, faculty, staff, and community members in addition to hosting varsity games. This busy schedule and heavy traffic at the Dalplex meant that the Tigers had to find the perfect signage solution to prominently display sponsor logos close to the action while also being easily moved into storage depending on the event.

The Tigers found Softline™ Padded A-Frames to be the perfect fit for their sponsor signage needs. AMI Graphics’ signature padded a-frame, Softline™ A-Frames allow sponsors to be featured right next to the action on the court or field while still keeping student-athletes safe. Checking off another box for the Tigers, these a-frame signs are portable so they can be brought out for varsity games and folded flat to be stored out of the way for other Dalplex events.

While the Tigers were specifically looking for a courtside signage solution, Softline™ Padded A-Frames are constructed from durable, weather resistant materials and able to be used both indoors and out. This versatility provides the Tigers with the option to also use the a-frames on the sidelines of any of their outdoor sports such as soccer, track & field, or club football.
