Wellesley College, located west of Boston, MA, is widely considered one of the nation’s top colleges for women. When the College decided to renovate the Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse, they turned to AMI Graphics to transform the brand new white walls into a showcase of school history and spirit.
Marni Friedman, the Associate Director of Facilities and Operations, contacted AMI with ideas for projects in mind. Soon after that, a site survey was conducted in late March to determine exact measurements of the areas in question. AMI’s Creative Department prepared a number of proofs which were presented to Wellesley College in order to come up with a final plan for the projects.
Installations took place on two separate days, and the results are fantastic. A wall mural showcasing Wellesley College’s rich rowing history adorns the wall of their Boathouse. This mural required careful attention as historic photographs needed to be scaled up to fit the size of the space. The end result is a stunning ode to the program’s past.
A number of wall graphics were installed along the track surrounding the perimeter of the Fieldhouse as well as in their Spinning Room. Walls that stood stark white before install now stand out with oversized graphics encouraging student-athletes towards success.
