[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]All buildings have one thing in common, they all have doors. Without a door wrap, doors aren’t very exciting and most people wouldn’t think twice about them. But at AMI Graphics, we see doors as a blank canvas. People that enter your organization have no choice but to look at the doorway. Why not take advantage of it? Using a door wrap on an otherwise blank space can bolster branding efforts or provide a prime advertising space.
Door wraps can be ordered as permanent or temporary. Permanent door wraps provide a sharp, clean appearance for long-term use. Temporary door wraps still look professional, but use an adhesive material that is easily removable when it is no longer needed, leaving the original finish on the door unharmed. Temporary door wraps are perfect for sponsors and promoting events like concerts or festivals.
Permanent Door Wraps
Permanent door wraps are excellent for branding because the logo graphics will remain consistent over time. Displaying a logo or motto on a door wrap can set the tone for a facility before you step inside.
At Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), a permanent athletic door wrap was used on the doorway to the strength and conditioning facility. Rather than leaving the doorway blank, SNHU decided to reinforce branding efforts and created an impressive visual that will excite student-athletes and recruits alike. Students see a bold, motivational message, rather than a blank door as they approach.
Temporary Door Wraps
Temporary door wraps are perfect for special events when signage is located in a high traffic area for a limited amount of time. Whether it’s a sponsorship, concert, or anything else, a temporary door wrap is an excellent promotional tool.
When Red Bull held the Red Bull Battle Grounds Grand Finale event at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland, they faced an interesting challenge. How to add event signage and sponsorships without damaging the existing graphics on the wall of The Fillmore. Red Bull used temporary adhesive products that enriched the theater, but were easily removed when the event was over, leaving no trace they were ever there. Red Bull used adhesive graphics to build excitement for what was happening behind the doors.
What if I Have a Door with Windows?
Windows covered with the same adhesive wrap used for door wraps leaves them opaque. To see through the windows, we use a perforated window film called GlassMax™ . This allows the door wrap to look complete and uniform, while also allowing visitors to see through the window when needed.
St. Joseph’s College used their double doors leading to their gymnasium to strengthen branding with an athletic door wrap featuring their mascot and team name. Each door has a small vertical window. GlassMax™ was used over the windows, allowing guests to see through the glass, which improves functionality but doesn’t take away from the visual effectiveness of the door wrap.
Athletic door wraps are an excellent way to extend branding that is already present in a facility. A door wrap complements existing wall murals or signage nicely. In the above photo, St. Joseph’s College had the existing custom signage on the right side of the hallway and added the door wrap to give the area a more complete feel.
