Monday, April 18, 2016 marked the 120th Boston Marathon and AMI’s 8th year partnering with the Boston Athletic Association. The sun was out for this year’s race along with the AMI team who spent the days preceding the Marathon working tirelessly to install signage along the 26.2 mile course. Check out a video highlighting all the signage here.
This year for the first time, AMI was tasked with constructing a unique stage for winners to accept their awards on. AMI Creative Director, Matt Fowler, designed the stunning piece that traveled from our shop in Strafford, NH all the way to the world stage in Boston, MA.
In addition to the stage, AMI produced and installed event signage from Hopkinton to Boston. The start line was outfitted with a-frames, event mesh, truss signage, wind flags, and other related event signage. A new addition this year involved event mesh banners lining popular viewing areas in Newton, Cleveland Circle, and Coolidge Corner. Event mesh and vinyl banners were installed along Boylston Street along with A-Frame signage to usher runners down the homestretch; the end of the race was outfitted with visual branding on the iconic photo bridge that marks the finish line.
As always, congratulations to all the runners, and we are looking forward to the 121st Boston Marathon next year!
