San Jose State University - Football Practice Field Mesh Windscreens

San Jose State University, a public university in the California State University system, is home to more than 30,000 students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Competing in the Mountain West Conference at the NCAA Division I FBS level, the San Jose Spartans field 22 intercollegiate athletic teams and boast numerous team and individual NCAA Championship titles. 

During the winter of 2019, the Spartans Softball team was looking for mesh windscreens to transform blank fences around their new field into a show of school and team spirit and pride. Mesh windscreens are a perfect solution to visually enhance fences at almost any facility by providing the option to display high-impact visuals while also providing a level of privacy and wind protection. The completed windscreens project gave the Spartan Softball team a true home field advantage at Spartan Softball Field.

After seeing the final results at Spartan Softball Field, the SJSU football team loved the results of the design and color match to the SJSU blue and wanted to achieve the same look at their practice facility instead of the plain black mesh windscreen they currently had. The talented designers at AMI Graphics worked back and forth with the team at SJSU to achieve a design that really popped while still keeping in mind the brand standards of all logos involved. Once the design was approved the mesh windscreens were produced and installed by the team at AMI Graphics.

With the needs of field care in mind, the windscreens were strategically installed with enough open space at the bottom of the fence so that the banners would not be damaged during weed whacking and other groundskeeping activities. The final results created a source of team and school pride at the football practice facility. This can serve as a source of motivation for current student-athletes and further improve efforts to impress recruits and entice them to choose SJSU.
