University of Georgia - Track and Field Championship Mesh Banner with Custom Installation System

A powerhouse in many sports, the University of Georgia Bulldogs have won numerous national championships in intercollegiate athletics. Their most recent national championships came in 2018 when the Bulldogs won the Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championship and the Women’s Indoor Track & Field National Championship. Looking to celebrate these recent championship victories, the Bulldogs facilities team turned to longtime signage partner, AMI Graphics, to produce a banner to showcase the accomplishments.

The Bulldogs thought that a tall metal viewing tower at their outdoor track would be the perfect spot as it would hold a big enough mesh banner to be impactful and would also allow for the banner to be hung high enough to maximize viewing ability. We conducted a site survey and while the tower was great for size and viewing purposes, it also posed an installation challenge as the support columns were spaced too far apart to keep the banner installed at the proper tension with just the columns alone.

The AMI crew used the measurements taken during the site survey to develop a custom hardware cabling system that would allow the large mesh banner to be safely and properly installed on the tower. Our talented Creative Design team then designed the artwork for the banner and also created a rendering of how the banner would look when installed to get the proper campus approval. Upon approval, AMI printed, finished, and installed the banner in time for their first home meet.
